Check Out Cowboy Central – The Star
No visit to Frisco would be complete without a visit to The Star, the Dallas Cowboys’ world headquarters! Guided tours take visitors behind the scenes for an experience they’ll never forget. (Read my article: The Star: Dallas Cowboys Tour Highlights.)
The Star District also has a premiere dining, shopping, and entertainment complex. Some of my favorite Frisco restaurants are at The Star (more about that later.)

Explore the Rail District
Frisco’s historic downtown is buzzing these days, with many exciting changes happening. It’s becoming the go-to spot in town. It’s pedestrian-friendly, with cool restaurants, shops, and awesome murals popping up everywhere. Plus, you can still feel the history of this place, especially with its ties to the railroad.
Check Out the Public Art at Frisco Square
I set out to find one of the #IHeartFrisco sculptures and discovered one outside City Hall where a kind stranger snapped a photo for me. I also stumbled across this amazing train sculpture, so then I downloaded this public art walking tour map to find all the Frisco Square public art.

Catch a Ball Game While Floating in the Lazy River
7300 Rough Riders Trail
Website
Grab the fam and head to the Choctaw Lazy River for the ultimate day out! Chill in your inner tube, soak up some sun, and catch all the Frisco Rough Riders baseball action while you float. It’s the perfect combo of relaxation and sports – you won’t want to miss it!
Hike to the Hidden Waterfall at Limestone Quarry Park
6300 Maltby Drive
Searching for the waterfall, I ventured beyond the playground, where I spotted unofficial dirt-trodden paths leading down to an urban creek. The limestone rock walls were beautiful; honestly, that was reward enough!
I decided to explore the creek trail to the left in search of the waterfall, but no luck this time! Despite hearing about it from another park-goer and seeing photos, it seems the waterfall wasn’t flowing. Oh well, still had a great time at the park!
Book It to the Frisco Public Library
8000 Dallas Pkwy
Website
So maybe visiting a library on vacation wouldn’t normally be on your radar, but the Frisco Public Library is not your mama’s library, folks. It truly IS a destination.
As soon as I stepped inside, my gaze was captured by a mesmerizing river of words flowing across the ceiling, taken straight from literature. Talk about a “wow” moment!
As soon as I stepped into the circulation area, I couldn’t miss Rexy, the huge T-Rex calling kids over to the children’s section. And there’s more excitement: check out the dino tracks on the floor that make noise when you walk on them!
Another cool thing about the library is the “Social Stair,” which is perfect for hanging out whenever you want. Plus, there are tons of charging outlets for your gadgets. And the best part? The stairs are designed to keep things quiet, so you won’t get shushed by the librarian!
The children’s section at the library is way more than just books – they’ve really gone all out! Shelves are stocked with books at eye level for the little ones, plus a mini children’s museum vibe with awesome STEM activities and more. Think trains, a grocery store, and even a construction zone – it’s like a kid’s dream come true!

Explore the Frisco Discovery Center
8004 Dallas Pkwy
Website
Along with the National Videogame Museum I just mentioned, the Discovery Center is also home to the Frisco Art Gallery, Black Box Theater, and two other museums: the Sci-Tech Discovery Center and TrainTopia.
We stopped by TrainTopia for a quick peek, and even though I’m not usually into model railroads, I was seriously blown away by the intricate displays! It’s such a cool spot to check out.
See the Cattle Drive Sculptures at Central Park
3155 Parkwood Drive
I spotted the larger-than-life cattle sculptures while checking off my list of things to do in Frisco, and I made a note to see them up close before I left town. And let me tell you, it was totally worth it—even on a rainy day!
These massive sculptures, relief murals, and quotations pay homage to the historic cattle drive along the Shawnee Trail.
KidZania
2601 Preston Rd. Suite 3011
Facebook
KidZania blew my mind! It’s like a mini indoor city spanning 100,000 square feet that lets kids explore different roles and professions through hands-on activities and immersive experiences in super-realistic settings. They can also learn some money management skills!
From pretending to be firefighters to aspiring chefs, dentists, and pilots, there’s endless fun and learning at KidZania.
Stay tuned for a detailed article about the KidZania experience.
Stonebriar Centre
I don’t usually recommend malls because…they’re malls, but Stonebriar Centre is not what you’d expect. Yes, there’s great shopping, but there’s also a carousel, KidZania, a theater, an aquarium, an escape zone, and the world’s biggest bounce park!
WHERE TO EAT IN FRISCO, TEXAS
The Glen (The Star District)
6655 Winning Dr., Suite 600
The Glen is not just tasty, it’s a feast for the eyes too! This seafood-based American fusion joint is filled with Instagram-worthy spots, like a swing, a floral phone booth, and stunning murals.
Now, onto the main event: the food! Seafood fans, get ready for a flavor explosion with the Black Rock Fire Jumbo Shrimp and Lobster Pasta. Vegetarians, you won’t be left out with the Wild Mushroom Gnocchi. And for us salad enthusiasts, the Blackened Chicken Cobb Salad hits the spot. Every dish is a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
Sidecar Social (The Star District)
5100 Belt Line Rd.
Rev up your night at Sidecar Social, where delicious food meets endless entertainment. Whether you’re enjoying handcrafted cocktails on the patio or challenging your friends to arcade games and Skeeball, there’s never a dull moment at this lively hotspot in Frisco.
Dig into a huge menu with pizza, burgers, salads, main courses, and shareable plates. If you’re up for some seriously tasty upscale bar grub, this is your spot!
The Heritage Table (Rail District)
7110 Main St.
Head over to the lively Rail District and soak up some genuine southern hospitality at The Heritage Table. It’s housed in a beautiful historic home with a cozy vibe. They’re all about fresh, seasonal ingredients, and Chef Rich Vana, a 2024 James Beard Award nominee for best Texas chef, is the mastermind behind the menu.
We started with some crispy fried green tomatoes and hot buttered rolls with homemade tomato jam. I went for the Poached Pome Salad, packed with red-wine poached pears, cider-poached apples, and lemon ricotta – absolutely delicious! And if you’re not sure what to try, the Chicken Potpie and Fried Chicken Piccata are popular choices. Oh, and save room for dessert – the Chocolate Silk Pie is a must!
Breakfast at The Apron (Omni PGA Frisco)
4341 PGA Parkway
Pop into The Apron for a delicious meal any time of day! Named after that lush fringe of grass by the greens, it’s got breakfast, lunch, and dinner covered in a bright, breezy space just below the resort’s lobby. Those huge windows let in tons of light and offer killer views of the golf course while you dine.
We swung by for breakfast and when the server mentioned their famous açai bowl, I was sold. Even though I’m not usually big on breakfast, I couldn’t resist – and let me tell you, it did not disappoint!
Where to Stay in Frisco TX
My Pick: I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Frisco which is conveniently connected to the Stonebriar Centre.
